Its been awhile but have finally managed to update. For those of you who don't know, Indra's last MRI came back clear. We can breathe a bit easier as our next review isn't until June, and it will be 2yrs since diagnosis by then.
It doesn't feel as raw anymore although every so often it creeps back to remind me all that my gorgeous boy has been through. All that US as a family has been through.

Still here ... :P
Hi everyone... yes it has been awhile hasnt it. Indra is now 14 and trying to catch up all he has missed. Still in remission as at our last review in August. He is continuing to improve and no longer wears orthotic splints anymore at all - YAY!!! His memory is also improving slowly :) We are continuing with our regular appointments, chemo and radiation has caused many side effects and we have to keep on top of them. Hopefully he will be back to playing football before we know it!!!
Not a day goes by that we dont feel affected by this whole experience. I hope in time we will be able to help others and give back to the community but for the moment we are just trying to heal as a family. Its getting a little easier everyday.

Has it been 1 year already?

Hi Guys, I know it's been a while. Just been trying to live life as normally as possible. Indra's rehabilitation is going very well, although he still tries to fight the fatigue and his memory is still getting the better of him. He has been attending full days at school (inbtwn numerous appointments at PMH of course.) Looking forward to seeing his mid year report.
Indra is in Broome this week on camp with other cancer kids. Not only a break for him but a well earned break for me too :) Im sure there will be lots of photo's to put on here.
It's been almost a year since Indra's diagnosis...WOW, I think i have been through every emotion humanly possible. Thanks to everyone who has supported us throughout this time, it hasnt been easy. Next MRI is due the first week of August. Fingers and toes crossed already :)

Back From Holiday
We had a great trip away... Indra did an amazing job while we travelled across Java and Bali. We caught up with old friends and family - It was so good to get away from it all for abit. Photo's coming soon. We have MRI and a whole bunch of appointments and tests coming up this week. Will keep you posted on any relevant results. Indra is slowly getting his energy back, I guess its going to be quite a while before he feels his normal self again.

RESULTS!!!!
We had end of treatment review yesterday... we are now officially using the word REMISSION. This is the best possible outcome we could hope for at this time.
Post radiation has really knocked him for a six and we all continue on this journey - good days and bad. Indra still has a long rehab and recovery ahead of him but he has come so far already :)

MRI
We havent had the official end of treatment review but Indra's scan has come back with very good results... so I hear :) Next week we will have more information and hopefully be able to start using that word ...REMISSION.
Of course we still have rehabilitation and that is all going well. Indra has been very flat lately, the effects of radiotherapy thought to be the cause. He has missed a few days of school but the important thing is he is rested and well. His recovery is going to be a long term issue and we are just happy to be able to move forward.
We have a holiday planned in six weeks and fingers crossed we will be able to take it!

Radiation finishes tomorrow !!!
First of all... Merry Christmas and Happy New Year :)
We had a lovely quiet Xmas and even quieter new year. Radiation therapy stops tomorrow, yay... another milestone conquered and hopefully we wont have to do it again EVER.
We wont have any scans or news until late February - gonna be a long 6 weeks. Indra is very tired from this round of therapy, hopefully he can recover abit before school starts.

Is it December already???
Hi people... we are still plodding along. Indra is halfway through his radiation course, finishes January and next scan happening February. He is getting better everyday but still having memory problems :) He had a visit at school a few weeks back and was so excited to catch up with school mates. He will be back at the start of next year. We will be based at home after Dec 18 however still taking daily trips to the city for treatment.
Indra has been lucky to have recovered so quickly and to be able to show him all the messages from his friends and family just makes him light up! Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and well-wishes.
